about

Juno Records review:
Ninety Two Retro and 7th Storey Project link up once again (the last time was in 2013 with the mighty DJ Excel 12") with four previously unreleased tracks by hardcore/trance maestro Steve Stewart AKA The Charm. "He Thinks He's Bad" takes the lead with its elastic bass and spiralling arpeggios before more euphoric/GOA-edged synths go full hurricane on the title track. Meanwhile on the B we have the darker proto jungle spaciousness and sudden synth salvo of "My Heart Keeps Jumping" before "Doin It Live" closes the show with a mean Prodigy-on-steroids hardcore headbutt. Crisp, punchy, and still fresh almost 30 years later, this is an outstanding excavation by both Ninety Two and 7th Storey.
